端午節將登場，民眾除了吃粽子應景外，在室內吹冷氣、坐沙發上觀賞龍舟賽也成樂事。但替龍舟「開光點睛」，是賽前不可或缺儀式，柯文哲將循傳統，下午2時50分與屈原宮廟方進行儀式，屆時踩街隊伍將沿洲美街、承德路六段繞行。
根據台北市教育局入口網站登載，划龍舟原來是消災祈福的祭水神儀式，後來據說屈原自殺後，人們為尋找屍體看見有龍在江上飛躍，因此將船頭、船尾刻成龍形。
另外，龍舟需要經過「開光」儀式才能下水，因此每年農曆5月初1，必須由地方首長祭拜「水仙尊王」，提筆在龍舟龍眼上點睛；初5龍舟下水前，必須敲鑼打鼓、燒香禮拜放鞭炮，巡行後才可入水比賽。
台北市體育局表示，「水岸台北2015端午嘉年華」龍舟點睛暨祭江大典將於下午2時於屈原宮正式舉行，活動預計下午4時結束，歡迎有興趣的民眾一同共襄盛舉，體驗傳統中華文化。1040607
